Not recommended for community tanks, a very active species that should be kept in schools of 8 or more may nip fins of tank mate if not in schools. Use a fine substrate and hardy plants around the edges. Tiger barbs are susceptible to ich so water temperature should be kept stable. There are also green, albino and gold varieties available.
