Q1. Why is it possible for anyone to easily keep fish using only GEO LIQUID and nothing else? A1. The secret is in GEO LIQUID’S micro quality sensors, which automatically adjust all water conditions. Flex’s GEO LIQUID formula incorporates over ten different kinds of unique FLEX developed “Micro Water Quality Sensors” These “Micro Water Quality Sensors” are divided into two categories: “Contaminant Sensors”, and “Deficiency Sensors.” These “micro sensors” adjust all the different water quality parameters and conditions automatically for the fish keeper. GEO LIQUID automatically adjusts all the water conditions for each kind of fish. Even beginners can easily get professional results like breeders and other experts. Because of GEO LIQUID, chlorine neutralizers, Ph buffers, slime coating agents to protect fish from heavy metals, spawning aids, bacteria cultures, and all the other multitudes of chemical water treatments and conditioners have all become unnecessary.
Q2. Don’t I still need to learn all about the intricacies of fish keeping anymore? Can I really keep fish successfully so easily? A2. Fish keepers have now been freed from the need for extensive technical knowledge. There are many complicated, and bothersome water quality test kit chemicals that need to be mastered to correctly analyze the cause of a problem. You need specialty knowledge and understanding of the many different individual water treatments before you can decide how to rectify any problem. All of this is now unnecessary. Of course it is still necessary to have a minimum level of knowledge of the fish, water plants, and other things you keep in your aquarium. For example: Where they like to live, what they eat, their habits, the kind of food they need, how often they need to be fed, what water temperature is best for them, etc. These are the only kind of things you now need to learn about to deepen your enjoyment of keeping ornamental fish as a hobby.
Q3. Will the contaminant sensors in GEO LIQUID remove all contaminants from the water? A3. Yes, GEO LIQUID identifies every contaminant present, and responds with the best solution for each one. The contaminant sensors seek out not only the full range of contaminants (Both chemical and physical.) in the aquarium, but accurately determine the exact level of each. The different contaminant sensors then deal with each individual kind of contaminant detected. All this work is carried out on a microscopic scale using the laws of Physics, rather than the laws of chemistry. GEO LIQUID dose not utilize any chemical reaction. For example, in the case of large molecule colloidal contaminants, they are physically removed from solution by the GEO LIQUID particles. The GEO LIQUID particles use the Brownian movement of the water to float around in the water, and grab all the contaminants they come across. These contaminants are permanently locked onto the GEO LIQUID particles electro-statically and can never escape. Even when the contaminants are of a chemical nature, GEO LIQUID dose not utilize any chemical reaction to remove them. Therefore, unlike other maker’s chemical based products, there is absolutely no risk of unpredictable side effects from miscalculating the dosage. There is also no risk of any toxic by-product being released through side reactions with other products that may be present in the water.
Q4. Do the deficiency sensors replenish all necessary components that are lacking in the water? A4. Yes, GEO LIQUID re-creates a perfect natural balance in depleted, unbalanced aquarium water. It not only adds minerals and trace elements to the water, but adjusts their levels either up or down, to achieve a perfect balance. The various deficiency sensors in GEO LIQUID have the ability to measure all the numerous minerals and nutrients dissolved in the water to see if they are deficient or in excess. The deficient sensors start adjusting all the water conditions towards pre-established ideal levels. Depleted minerals and trace elements are automatically replenished, and overabundant ones are automatically reduced. GEO LIQUID not only adjusts the general hardness, carbonate hardness and ph, it also adjusts all water parameters to ideal levels, according to Liebig’s law. (Which states that living cells can only absorb essential nutrients in amounts relative to the least abundant nutrient. So no matter how much of a particular nutrient is present, if any of the others are depleted, it cannot be absorbed properly.) GEO LIQUID also increases dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, while at the same time adjusts and maintains ideal levels of all the essential minerals.
Q5. Can you use GEO LIQUID with any kind of fish? A5. Different kinds of fish have different water quality requirements, so there is a different kind of GEO LIQUID for each kind of fish. Of course, different fish require different environments to live in. Therefore ideal water conditions for each kind of fish are different too. That is why there is a different GEO LIQUID formula made specifically for each kind of fish. The mix of deficiency sensor in each kind of GEO LIQUID have been pre-set according to the ideal water conditions required by each kind of fish. Nothing else is needed to create, or maintain, the perfect environment for that species. There is a “GEO LIQUID” product suitable for whatever kind of aquarium or fish that you keep. As well as the most commonly used Fresh Water, Brackish Water, and Marine version of GEO LIQUID sold in Japan, we have special versions for Goldfish, Killifish, Turtle, Betta, etc. In overseas markets we are introducing a new lineup of special versions for Discus, Arowana, Guppy, Flowerhorn, Catfish, etc.
Q6. Are there any points to be careful of when using GEO LIQUID for the first time? A6. Yes, make sure you first change about half the water in the aquarium. Also, please use GEO LIQUID at twice the normal rate when using it in an aquarium for the first time. GEO LIQUID should be used at every water change. Many products make groundless or exaggerated claims such as “No more water changes needed” etc. GEO LIQUID makes no exaggerated claims of this nature. Please do not be deceived, the average household aquarium with only the normal small filter set-up attached, always requires regular partial water changes, regardless of claims you may hear to the contrary. The first time GEO LIQUID is used, it should be used according to the quantity of water in the aquarium. From the second time onwards, it can be used in relation to the quantity of water being changed. More is OK, as it is totally on toxic in any concentration. Using a thermometer, always adjust the temperature of tap water being added to the aquarium to the same temperature as the water in the aquarium. It is OK to use a little hot water for this if necessary. Simply add the required amount of GEO LIQUID to the water in the bucket, before adding to the aquarium. That’s all there is to it!! Nothing else is necessary. When changing the water, it is important not to disturb the fish too much by just dumping the new water in all at once. If possible, the ideal way is to slowly trickle the water down the inside of the glass in a corner using a kettle or watering can.
Q7. When I used GEO LIQUID, I was surprised at how cloudy it made the water go. Is this really OK? A7. Yes, this is normal, the cloudiness usually clears overnight, leaving the water crystal clear. GEO LIQUID, unlike other products available up to now, makes the water go very cloudy. Some people, when seeing this for the first time, are surprised and sometimes panic! The color you see is the Micro Sensor particles in the water. It has absolutely no ill effects on the fish, and is nothing to worry about. Nearly all the water treatments and conditioners available up to now are composed of man made chemicals. They treat the water using chemical reaction. Nearly all of these chemicals are completely invisible in the water, and the specific chemical reaction they induce, are often virtually instantaneous. However, on the other hand, chemical products actually cause many problems. If you don’t have a high level of technical knowledge, or don’t know how to use all the chemical test kits, correctly interpret the results, understand all the chemical reactions, and use the appropriate chemical correctly, then severe side effects can occur. Maybe there will be no results at all. This is just like when taking human medications without being well informed. Unlike these other products, GEO LIQUID doesn’t utilize any kind of chemical reaction at all. Everything is orchestrated and controlled from the microscopic world of the micro water quality sensors. Because all the effects are physical rather than chemical, it is entirely safe, and it makes it possible for anyone to make perfect water for fish keeping. However, like any natural holistic approach, this process can take a little time. The micro sensors in GEO LIQUID drift around in the water until they have completely finished their work. If there are a lot of contaminants in the aquarium, only the contaminant sensors will continue drifting around for a long time until all of them are removed. If the aquarium is lacking a lot of minerals and trace elements, the deficient sensors will drift around for a long time until all the deficiencies are rectified. When GEO LIQUID is used for the first time in an ordinary household aquarium, a lot of adjustments are usually necessary to create ideal conditions. On average, the aquarium will stay cloudy for a whole night the first time GEO LIQUID is used. However, the time it takes to clear shortens after each use, until it finally clears in less than 2 hours.
Q8. When I used GEO LIQUID, the cloudiness didn’t clear overnight. Why is this? A8. On occasion, the cloudiness doesn’t clear, even after 3 days. If this happens, it is probable that there is a problem with the filter system. If many chemical products have been used in the aquarium before using GEO LIQUID for the first time, the micro water quality sensor may stay drifting about in suspension fro 2 to 3 days, and there are cases where the cloudiness doesn’t clear as usual, this is caused by high levels of chemical residue in the water, in order to remove all these unwanted chemicals from the water the contaminant sensors need a lot more time. GEO LIQUID will continue working until it’s job is completely finished. Please be patient the cloudiness will clear. If the cloudiness lasts more than 3 days, it is time to start looking for problems in your filter system. The filter medium is possibly clogged beyond its working limit, and is leaching contaminants and residues back into the aquarium. In this case the contaminant sensor suspended in the water will keep on trying to work forever. As soon as some contaminants are removed from the water they are replaced by more being released from the clogged filter. So GEO LIQUID’S work will never end. Please clean out the filter, or even replace the filter or filter material if necessary.
Q9. Can I use any kind of filtration system? Can I expect the same results regardless of the filter I am using? A9. In general, we can’t recommend simple “bubbler” type filters. Simple “bubbler” type filters are sold on the assumption that they will only be used in small goldfish tanks, and other small aquariums containing 2 or 3 fish. We cannot recommend them for anyone who is serious about keeping a good aquarium. One of the weak points of “bubbler” filters is that you cannot easily adjust the airflow. Many beginners are under the misunderstanding that the stronger the airflow, the better. However, if the airflow is too strong, the current too can be too strong, and this just stresses the fish. This often just stirs up the water and actually prevents the filter from working properly. If you use GEO LIQUID in these conditions, it is sometimes difficult to see the results. If this is the only type of filter you have, at least use an air valve to keep the airflow as low as possible in order to get the best results.
Q10. Is it possible to use GEO LIQUID with other water treatments? How about bacteria culture type products? Do they work well together with GEO LIQUID? A10. It is possible to use GEO LIQUID with other products. However, it is unnecessary and pointless. GEO LIQUID is a complete, all-in-one-bottle, comprehensive water treatment and conditioner. There is usually no need for any other water conditioner or treatment, including bacteria cultures. The contaminant sensors in GEO LIQUID, treats anything that doesn’t occur in natural water as an unwanted contaminant. Therefore any other makers product that are used at the same time will also be treated as unwanted contaminant, and will be removed right away. So it is possible to use other product, but is just meaningless There are no bacteria contained in GEO LIQUID. However, when GEO LIQUID is used, the population of essential bacteria in the aquarium quickly increases to optimum levels. The reason for this is that GEO LIQUID continuously supplies all the essential minerals needed by the bacteria to grow, and multiply. So it is possible to use bacteria cultures with GEO LIQUID, but is generally quite pointless. In fact there is a limit to the number of nitrifying bacteria that can live in an aquarium. This limit is proportional to the surface area of the filter media, the dissolved oxygen of the water, the level of essential minerals dissolved in the water, and the amount of food available o the bacteria. Any bacteria added above this level will die off. These dead bacteria of course add to the load of proteins and other organic compounds polluting the water. It is possible to add more bacteria than necessary as it often has negative effect on water quality. Also continuously adding bacteria cultures products can completely ruin the natural balance of bacteria in the filter.
Q11. I am using fish medication in my aquarium. Is it OK to use them at the same time as GEO LIQUID? A11. Please avoid using medication at the same time as GEO LIQUID in your main aquarium. GEO LIQUID will remove all medications from the water. The contaminant sensors contained in GEO LIQUID treats anything that should not be found in good healthy natural water as a contaminant. Therefore medication and their residue are also treated as contaminants and removed. After medications have been used, GEO LIQUID is extremely useful for removing all traces of medication residue from the aquarium, and helping to re-establish the essential bacteria in the filter. We recommend that GEO LIQUID be used at 3 times the normal recommended dosage in this case. The key to successfully maintaining healthy water conditions is to remove all traces of medication residue. After all medication residues have been removed from the water, please throw out all the old filter media. The reason for this is that once the filter media has been contaminated by medication, bacteria cannot breed successfully there again. You have to start again with fresh filter material. Only then will you once again have an aquarium setup where the essential bacteria can breed successfully. Please remember again that adding medication to an aquarium is generally a mistake. As we mentioned before, filter material that has absorbed medication shouldn’t be used anymore. The bacteria will never successfully multiply there again. This is because almost all fish medications are potent germicides, and their residue can have severe side affects on the essential bacteria. Whenever possible, please move fish to a separate quarantine aquarium for treatment if necessary!!
Q12. I bought GEO LIQUID to make the water even clearer. Is there anything I should be especially careful of? A12. Yes, if you are using PSB bacteria, special care is required. PSB (Photo Synthetic Bacteria) is a kind of soil bacteria, which simply by being exposed to sunlight, will rapidly increase in numbers, making it ideal for commercial production at low cost, and is often sold by aquarium shops in the form of a pink liquid. In the production process, the bacteria are fed on pig urine etc. It often has a foul odor. Generally speaking, most contaminants in the water are proteins, and other organic colloids drifting around in the water. In aquariums where the bacteria driven system for breaking down wastes (Called the nitrogen cycle.) are not well established, these organic colloids build up, and drift around in the water. The result is that the water gets polluted with a whitish cloudiness. PSB is the most well known kind of soil bacteria, which breaks these organic colloids down into invisible clear ammonia. The result is that the whitish color caused by these organic colloids will clear up. Many beginners, when seeing this cloudy polluted water go clear after adding PSB, are very impressed, and feel they must keep using PSB continuously to maintain this water clarity. Please remember, as we mentioned earlier, that adding PSB to the aquarium on a continual basis can have severe side effects. We will talk about this later. The balance of bacteria in the filter will be far removed from the natural balance that should be there. There are actually many different kinds of bacteria that clean and filter the water. These are divided into 3 main broad categories. When these 3 kinds of bacteria, and all the water plants or seaweed are all growing in perfect harmony and balance, the natural micro-flora driven purification and filtration system forms a complete functioning eco-cycle, known as the “Nitrogen Cycle”.
The 3 groups are:
The “soil bacteria” group These bacteria work in the first step of the nitrogen cycle where the organic wastes in the fish excrements, uneaten food, and other wastes are broken down into ammonia. PSB is in this group. If PSB is constantly added to the aquarium, ammonia levels will constantly remain unnaturally high. Because ammonia is not toxic in slightly acid conditions in most freshwater aquariums, beginners don’t ever realize it is there. However in alkaline conditions, ammonia suddenly becomes quite toxic. When “ph up” is used in the aquarium that have been using PSB constantly, cases of all fish suddenly dying etc, are quite common. This is why there are no PSB users among keepers of marines and brackish water aquariums. The reason is that these aquariums have alkaline water, and this makes the ammonia associated with excessive PSB toxic.
Nitrosomonas: Step 2 in the nitrogen cycle. Nitrosomonas is a kind of bacteria that breaks down the ammonia produced by the soil bacteria into nitrite, which is very toxic. In the process it uses large amounts of oxygen, and is a kind of aerobic (oxygen loving.) bacteria.
Nitrobacter: Step 3 in the nitrogen cycle. Nitrobacter is a kind of bacteria that breaks down the very toxic nitrite produced by Nitrosomonas into the nontoxic final end product nitrate. Nitrobacter is also a kind of aerobic bacteria that requires lots of oxygen. Many beginners have had the experience of having all the fish in their newly set up freshwater aquarium die suddenly. This is nearly always caused by the toxic nitrite buildup produced by the Nitrosomonas bacteria. In the newly set up aquarium, the Nitrobacter bacteria that normally breaks down the toxic nitrite into harmless nitrate don’t start working right away. Even adding bacteria cultures will have little effect. The reason is that the Nitrobacter’s food is nitrite itself. Until the nitrite levels increase to a certain level, the Nitrobacter bacteria will not become active. Therefore it is important to understand that in a newly set up aquarium the levels of nitrite will always increase dangerously at least once. If you wait a while, the Nitrobacter will become active and nitrite levels will drop to low levels. Then finally the purification cycle run by the bacteria in the nitrogen cycle will be complete. There is only one way to minimize the risk to the fish of the temporary high levels of nitrite in newly set up aquarium. That is, for the first month after setting up the aquarium, to only keep a very small number of cheap fish to “seed” the tank. After a month or so, you can safely increase the number of fish little by little. Most bacteria cultures products available on the market for aquarium use contain strains of Nitrosomonas, and Nitrobacter. If these oxygen hungry aerobic bacteria are regularly added to the aquarium, the level of dissolved oxygen can suddenly drop to very low levels. This increases the danger to the fish and other living things in the aquarium posed by chronic lack of oxygen. Bacteria culture products can, and even should be, used in small amounts when first setting up an aquarium. This is the best way of using them. After that, the bacteria will naturally increase, and quickly establish a stable balance. The final end product of all this bacterial activity, are nitrates. In freshwater aquariums, Nitrates are absorbed by water plants and algae as nutrients. In marine aquariums, they are absorbed by various seaweeds and marine algae. This is how the aquarium water is purified. This eco-cycle is an integral part of the web of life in the ecosystem within a healthy aquarium. When you start achieving a well balanced ecosystem in your aquarium, the water will go crystal clear in the true meaning of the word. The aquarium will be full of activity. The fish will swim around full of vitality. The water plants will begin to photosynthesize, and produce so much oxygen they get covered with hundreds of little oxygen bubbles like a myriad of shinning pearls. If you want to achieve a perfectly balanced, natural ecosystem like this in your aquarium, you need to have 3 kinds of bacteria in the right balance, all living in the filter. There also has to be sufficient water plants or seaweed in the aquarium to absorb all the nitrates as nutrients. This is the reason that in fish only aquariums without plants or algae, it is often hard to keep fish healthy. This kind of superb bacteria balance is one of the wonders of nature. Once you have achieved perfectly balanced water conditions, there is nothing much to do, except look after the bacteria in the filter. If you use GEO LIQUID exclusively, you can get these conditions established in a very short time. If you use PSB, or other bacteria cultures, regularly to this kind of e established healthy aquarium, the whole natural balance of the ecosystem will completely be destroyed. If PSB bacteria are constantly added to the aquarium, they will actually keep the water from getting dirty, but please understand that the level of invisible ammonia in the water is likely to remain high. People who keep adding PSB into their aquarium cannot stop using it. If they do, all their fish could die. As soon as you stop using PSB, the Nitrosomonas bacteria that break ammonia down into nitrite suddenly multiply. They break down all the ammonia that has built up in the aquarium into highly toxic nitrite. Before you know it, all the fish suddenly die of nitrite induced toxic shock!! If GEO LIQUID is simply added to an aquarium like this, a very serious situation can occur. The GEO LIQUID will induce the aquarium to revert to the natural conditions that should be there in the first place. At the same time the unbalanced mix of bacteria will be forcefully adjusted, and the build up ammonia will suddenly get broken down into deadly nitrite. In cases like this, the first thing to do is to stop using PSB, then immediately change two thirds or the water, adding GEO LIQUID at the same time. Then again the following day, change half the water again adding GEO LIQUID this time too. The only way to remove the large quantities of accumulated ammonia, and sudden increasing nitrite is by large repeated water changes, until the natural bacteria balance is restored. After that, please stop feeding the fish for a week. Until the bacteria balance in the filter has been properly established, it is sensible to try not to do anything that will add uneaten food, or fish excrement to the aquarium. It is no problem to leave nearly all fish without food for a week. Then you will finally rectify the dangerous conditions caused by the elevated ammonia and nitrite levels brought about by the PSB. The natural balanced ecosystem in your aquarium should then become reestablished by itself.
